<p>More than 13 years after the previous edition, the Nielsen Norman group publishes the new results of its report devoted to the behavior of Internet users when facing a web page. It is based on a series of studies carried out over the past 13 years on more than 500 participants in the United States, but also in China, taking into account more than 750 hours of eye tracking.</p>
<h2>Internet users continue to scan a web page rather than reading it</h2>
<p>As already noted in 1997, the study confirms that Internet users do not read all of the content online. It is a phenomenon that has persisted for 23 years. They tend to scan a page rather than reading it linearly. Their objective: to find the most relevant information in relation to the purpose of their research.</p>
<p>According to the study, 4 factors explain the time spent by a user when he is faced with the content of a web page:</p>

<p>The study also analyzed Google’s search results pages through the eye movement of Internet users. If this type of page was previously scanned in a relatively linear fashion, the results show that this is no longer the case today. The cause: the diversity and richness of the elements that make up a SERP page on the Google search engine, or its competitor Bing.</p>

<h2><span>It&#8217;s out of style, now the videos are taken</span></h2>
<p><span>This is one of the reasons I have most heard in my environment. Why a blog if you can make a video and upload it on YouTube?</span></p>
<p><span>YouTube is a platform where growing is a slow process (and not quite simple) due to its large amount of content. To give you an idea, every minute upload more than 500h video ( </span><a href="https://filmora.wondershare.com/youtube-video-editing/mind-blowing-youtube-stats-facts-2017.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span>according to Filmora</span></a><span> ). This makes it difficult to highlight your content in front of other people, and that&#8217;s where the blog comes into action.</span></p>
<p><span>A blog can be very beneficial when looking for visibility because with the right work (SEO, WPO, the creation of quality content, etc.) you will be able to reach many more people. So &#8230; Should you put aside YouTube videos? No, both can coexist and support each other when it comes to, for example, getting clients.</span></p>
<p><span>Another advantage of the blog in front of the video would be the ease when creating content. To upload a video, you need to devise it, record it and edit it (this varies depending on the case). For this, you will need a lot of time, more than you would surely need to translate this idea into a blog. In addition, this article could be written even from the mobile, offering many facilities when creating content.</span></p>
<h2><span>Is it too late to create a blog?</span></h2>

<p><span>However, creating this type of content is not easy for the beginning writer (or for the expert). Facing the blank page (or the blank block, for diehard </span><span>Gutenberg</span> <span>fans </span>😅<span>) is a task that will make the most experienced sweat if we do not follow certain key guidelines within content marketing.</span></p>
<p><span>Today I come to present you the most important aspects to take into account to create content that catches the attention of your visitors. Although many will tell you dozens of tricks, I have decided to summarize all this in only 5 points.</span></p>
<p><span>A kind of pentacle (or five-pointed talisman) to grab when you see yourself in the position of creating new content with the prospect of making it a success. If I have succeeded or not, only you can tell me when you finish reading this article about it.</span></p>
<h2><span>The audience to which you are going</span></h2>
<p><span>It is not the same to prepare a content for business people as for fanatical millennials of Fortnite. As it is not the same to address an experienced audience than to an audience that does not know the concepts you will be dealing with.</span></p>
<p><span>The first thing you have to do before putting yourself to write as the soul that the devil carries is to study from end to end the kind of audience that you expect to end up reading. In this way, knowing who you are addressing, you can measure both the tone of the content and the way you express yourself in it.</span></p>

<p><span>Similarly, when I&#8217;m reviewing my preferred RSS feed aggregator or spending time on social networks if the title of the linked article does not appeal to me, I&#8217;ll move on to the next without any remorse. I&#8217;m sure you do too. Hence the importance of the titles you choose in your content.</span></p>
<p><span>Seen this, surely you think that the solution is to </span><span>look for a title that hooks to the top</span><span> and then if that, the content gives a little bit the same. This is called </span><em><span>clickbait</span></em><span> and I do not recommend it.</span></p>
<p><span>In fact, while preparing this entry, I had an interesting conversation with David in which he recommended alternative titles that were much crazier than the one I finally chose. If they had worked better than this, that is something we will never know, but it is clear that when choosing the title you should look for the balance between attractiveness towards your audience and truthfulness with the content. If you pass braking (I think David&#8217;s proposal was passed three villages </span>😂<span>) surely the result is counterproductive.</span></p>
<h2><span>The message you want to convey</span></h2>
<p><span>Your content should serve to send a message to your audience. It can be promotional or informative, but it must provide them with value or else they will ignore it without any type of problem.</span></p>
<p><span>Remember when you saw a television ad and when you finish this you asked yourself, but what are you announcing? A mistake of the book for the publicist of turn to which sometimes the head was innovating to him too much. Do not let the same thing happen to you.</span></p>

<p><span>If you are one of those who thinks that by sending a tweet when you publish your content you are already doing more than enough for the world to find out about its existence, you are on the wrong track. This is going to help you very little.</span></p>
<p><span>You should schedule the entire promotion of your content over time. If someone interested does not see the tweet (think that the tweets have an estimated lifetime of fewer than </span><span>18 minutes today</span><span> ), you will hardly find your content (unless </span>Google takes it to number one,<span> but that will take time).</span></p>
